Abstract

The article presents a statement on the use of nonanesthesiologist-administered propofol (NAAP) gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy, issued jointly by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, American College of Gastroenterology, and American Gastroenterological Association. According to this statement, the administration of propofol and standard sedation by nonanesthesiologists is comparable with respect to their efficacy and safety profiles.
