Abstract
- The article presents a case study on water management and wastewater treatment in a refinery with varied contaminant levels. It cites the Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) at Rawalpindi, Pakistan which processes a complicated mix of crude oils. It adds that the boiler blowdown water at the refinery was analyzed for neutralization with hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid. It includes a tabular summary of the new treatment program which proved the cost effectiveness of an in-house initiative.
