Abstract

The article discusses the government effort to promote safety and health on jobsites in the U.S. It is mentioned construction dust exposure can cause chronic bronchitis and emphysema, worst, silicosis. In this regard, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations require power tools to be equipped with dust shrouds. Moreover, U.S. Labor Department enforces the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards for Respiratory Protection and Eye and Face Protection in 28 states.
