Abstract
- The article explores how the March events that occurred in Poland in 1968 are gaining greater recognition in the country's collective memory. The events, which involved student protests, the dissemination of anti-Semitic propaganda by the Polish United Workers' Party and, ultimately, the forced emigration some 15,000 Jewish Poles form the country, were commemorated in 2008 and represent an effort by the country to come to terms with its history. The article explores the events of 1968 and discusses there unique position in Polish history.
