Investigates the possible link between abnormalities of the blastomeres and apoptosis using annexin V labelling and terminal transferase-mediated DNA end labelling (TUNEL) assay to detect cells undergoing apoptosis. Use of annexin V to detect phosphatidylserine exposure; Use of TUNEL assay to test the chromosomal breakdown preceding nuclear collapse of apoptotic nuclei.
