Introduction: Themed issue – Papers Arising from 7th Polish–Japanese Joint Seminar on Micro and Nano Analysis.

The article offers information on the 7th Polish-Japanese Joint Seminar on Micro and Nano Analysis which was held from September 7-10, 2008, Warsaw, Poland. The seminar was organized by the Institute of Electron Technology (ITE) under the cooperative advice of researchers and scientists from Japan. The seminar produced presentations on global nanotechnology and bio-medical sciences. The author acknowledges Professor Makoto Shiojiri, the honorary Chairman of the seminar.
