SMU Central University Libraries' Digital Collections.

The article focuses on the digitalization program of the Southern Methodist University's (SMU) Central University Libraries (CUL) on its unique special collections. It notes that the program aims to provide access to the collections through their CUL Digital Collections website. It mentions the nine collections that CUL's Norwick Center for Digital Services has uploaded in June-December 2008 including the student researches in text format, World War II photographs, and video archive series. Moreover, the processes and procedures in digitalization of the materials are discussed. Text based collections are converted to .pdf format, while the images are edited in photoshop for adjustments and corrections and converted to jpeg2000 images.
