Abstract
- The article presents a response by Arthur Carol and Samuel Parry to a commentary on their article about the economic rational of occupational choice. Professors Lester O. Bumas and Bruno Stein go on to introduce several confusions which Carol and Parry do not believe were in the article. Bumas and Stein argue that the choice model presented by Carol and Parry is theoretically inadequate because of its failure to consider the uncertainty of receiving future returns in various occupations. Bumas and Stein believe they should jettison the model, and they may be right.
