Abstract

This article presents updates on studies about labor organizations, as of July 1979. The studies conducted by William Form of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign include the skilled worker as a special faction within unions and work organization, and political cleavage between union officers and the rank-and-file unions. Dafna N. Izraeli of Tel-Aviv University is writing a series of reports on female and male shop stewards in Israeli industry. Desmond Morton and Terry Copp of the University of Toronto are writing a textbook entitled "Workers United: An Illustrated History of the Canadian Labour Movement."
