Abstract

The article reports on a eurobond issue by Wal-Mart. Amounting to 1 billion euros, the 20-year bond became less attractive due to issues in secondary trading and the weakening of the European corporate bond market. The retailer opted for the European market in order to take advantage of the tight price available in euros and offer a longer deal than what can be issued in the U.S.
