U.S. Agencies Take Steps to Coordinate International Programs but Lack Information on Some U.S.-funded Activities.

The article presents the study by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on democracy assistance funding offered by the Agency for International Development (AID), Department of State's Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (State DLR) and National Endowment for Democracy (NED). GAO suggests that the Secretary of State and the AID Administrator should work with NED to enhance coordination of U.S.-funded democracy assistance.
