Abstract
- The article focuses on the Deployment Extension Stabilization Pay program for the U.S. National Guard. Taking effect on September 1, 2009, the program aims to provide compensation for soldiers deployed past their end-of-service dates. It replaces the stop-loss program, and entitles these soldiers to a non-lump sum cash bonus of 6,000 U.S. dollars. Personnel officer Marianne Watson said soldiers should have their enlistment contracts extended to avail of the program.
