Abstract

The article presents a study which aimed at describing the water level and thermal conditions in Darling River, Australia to determine the influence of flow and floodplains for the recruitment of golden perch Macquaria ambigua in this spawning area. The study showed that the spawning period of golden perch took place over an extended period, covering autumn, winter, and spring, and that golden perch spawned at lower temperatures than had been previously reported.
