Abstract
- The article focuses on the enforcement actions of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). Dooney & Bourke Cos. co-founder Frederic Bourke was convicted of bribing the government officials in Azerbaijan, Iran and was found guilty of lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Bourke was sentenced of five years in prison and was asked to pay thousands of dollars in fine. The experts note that companies should ensure that their partners comply with the laws underlying the FCPA.
