Abstract
- The article examines the consumer confidence index of the U.S. for the August 2009 period. The Conference Board reports the index's increase from 47.4 in July 2009 to 54.1 in the August 2009 period. The Board also notes increase in the present situation index from 23.3 to 24.9. Moreover, the expectations index raises to 73.5 from the 63.4 index recorded in July 2009.
