Abstract
- The article details the operation of UPM Shotton recyling plant in Wales, the largest recycled newsprint mill in Great Britain. John Sanderson of UPM cites that contamination remains to be their main concern. Recycled paper sourcing manager Mike Burgess notes that the usefulness of paper may be reduced because it is a soft medium. Strict specifications enforce by Shotton on the waste paper it uses comprise less than 10% white office paper, 4% grey or white board, 1% brown board and 0% non-pulpable materials.
