Huntsman joins hands with Laffans for speciality chemicals.

This article reports on the letter of intent signed between Huntsman Corporation and Laffans Petrochemicals Ltd. to finalise a collaboration agreement to share know-how, expertise and resources for speciality chemicals. The aim of both companies is to leverage each other's capabilities and resources for surfactants and amines manufacturing in India. The responsibilities of Laffans in the partnership include manufacturing and raw material sourcing, while Huntsman would be responsible for commercial infrastructure, branding, product range, global approvals, technology and manufacturing processes. Steve Stilliard of Huntsman cites some of the products involved in the planned technology transfer. In 2008, Huntsman posted revenues worth 10 billion U.S. dollars.
