Abstract

Chapter 1 of the book "Climate Change, Trade and Competitiveness: Is a Collision Inevitable?" is presented. It explores the border tax adjustments (BTA) as a key climate policy component, the Kyoto Protocol and the arguments on climate in Europe and the United States. It highlights the G-Cubed Model, the ten regions for analyzing energy and environmental policies, the households and the government, the macroeconomic factors on labor, international trade and calculations of carbon content in goods being traded.
