Abstract

The article presents a study on thermal transport models in a surface/subsurface framework. Thermal energy transport exchange is relevant to determine ecosystem health and water resources management. To be able to address the issue of simulating thermal energy transport exchange processes, the transport model HydroGeoSphere was enhanced. It notes that the HydroGeoSphere became successful in matching the spatial variations in the thermal patterns observed in the riverbed, surface and groundwater.
