The article presents a brief outlook of the economic policy of Turkey for 2009-10. It is said that the immediate challenge for policymakers is to deal with the impact of the ongoing global financial crisis on the Turkish economy. The Turkish government is set to sign a new stand-by loan agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The government is to provide employment directly to 120,000 people in the wake of the ongoing economic downturn.
