Psoriasis - New Insights Into Pathogenesis and Treatment.

The article presents information related to the pathogenesis and treatment of psoriasis. As reported, psoriasis is one of the more common chronic inflammatory diseases. According to the Central Research Institute for Ambulatory Health Care in Germany, psoriasis accounted for about one million visits to a physician in the first quarter of the year 2000. It is also reported that patients tend to suffer from psoriasis for many decades, and life-long treatment is often necessary because the first symptoms appear before age 21 in half of all cases.
