Abstract

The author discusses the association between theoretical and applied information science and the concept of model. He highlights that the branch of science may be understood in various ways such as the scientific communities practicing it, its objects of study, and the methods and tools which it applies. The author emphasizes that information science models always play a dominant role regardless of the perspective from which information science is viewed.
