Abstract
- The article discusses asset-backed security (ABS) and the steps taken by the U.S. and British governments to restart securitization. The British Treasury Department launched the ABS Guarantee Scheme in April 2009, assigning 75.9 billion dollars to guarantee property securitization. Unlike the British government's plan, the U.S. Treasury Department has launched the Term ABS Loan Facility to provide support for new mortgage lending.
