Abstract

The article reports on the state of China's privately run air carriers. It is reported that the privately run airlines face an uphill climb in the struggle for survival. The magnitude of the problem can be gauged from the fact that East Star Airlines recently announced the suspension of its operations. It is reported that the frequent ownership changes have exerted a negative impact on United Eagle Airline and contributed to its financial instability.
