Abstract

The article presents a study which examines the association among sleep duration, sleep disorders, and occupation in day and shift workers. It notes that the cross-sectional study, which is part of the Hordaland Health Study, enrolled 7,782 workers whose occupations, shift works, and sleep patterns were identified and analyzed. Results show that shift workers are at risk for falling asleep at work and insomnia, and conclude that occupations have separate effects on sleep duration and disorders.
