Abstract

The article focuses on a study which investigated if a collaborative radiation dose-reduction program will be linked with reduced radiation dose in patients who are undergoing cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA). The study was conducted among 4,995 patients from 15 hospital imaging centers that are participating in the Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Consortium in Michigan. It utilized best practice CCTA such as heart rate reduction, reduced tube voltage, and minimized scan range. Study authors concluded that consistent use of dose-reducing techniques is associated with a reduction in estimated radiation doses.
