Russia risk: Political stability risk.

The article presents a political stability risk assessment for Russia as of February 2008. It is stated that the elimination of liberal politicians has caused a shift that is in favour of more statist policies. The author notes that civil society has been weakened during the tenure of President Vladimir Putin, while political parties other than United Russia have been marginalised. Several risk scenarios are discussed, which include foreign policy tensions that affect businesses.
