The article presents a political outlook for Pakistan is presented. The increased insurgent activity of the country's Islamists have caused the political power of president Asif Ali Zardari to weaken. The national security situation has worsened with the Pakistani army's large-scale offensive against Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan in the North West Frontier Province (NFWP).
