Abstract

The article reports on the relationship between the Catholic Church and Judaism. Pope Benedict XVI delivered an address at Auschwitz, the largest of the Nazi concentration camps, in 2006 where he neglected to mention anti-Semitism as a cause of the Holocaust. In 2007 Pope Benedict XVI modified the restrictions on the use of the Tridentine Mass where the prayer calls for the conversion of the Jews. In January 2009 Pope Benedict XVI lifted the excommunication of Bishop Richard Williamson.
