Monthly review: May 2009: Economic performance.

Information on developments in the economic performance of Finland as of May 2009 is presented. Recession continued to deepen, with seasonally adjusted economic activity estimated to have declined by 1.8%. Figures show a contraction in activity in the services sector, which was concentrated in the transport and storage sector. Financial results from the metals and pulp and paper sectors were poor, with metals manufacturers reporting sharp falls in sales.
