Abstract
- The article presents a profile of Maureen Scurfield, the author of the Winnipeg Sun newspaper's "Miss Lonelyhearts" column since 1980. The column is described as a forum for addressing the unique problems of those living in and around Winnipeg, Manitoba. Several examples of letters featuring the unconventional dilemmas of those living in the region are provided. Scurfield discusses the impact the Internet has had on her profession.
