Abstract

The article discusses the weeds that are more worrisome for alfalfa growers in different regions in the U.S. Steve Orloff, Siskiyou County farm advisor, asserts that the shepherd's purse and tansy mustards are problems for fall alfalfa seedings in Intermountain California. The most-abundant broadleaf affecting spring-planted alfalfa in Idaho is common lambsquarter. Volunteer small grains in Montana are widespread in seedling alfala.
