Washington Rural Heritage: Collaborations Based on Local History.

The article discusses the collaborative efforts of Washington Rural Heritage (WRH) project to enable small, rural cultural institutions and libraries to create digital collections available to anyone. It highlights the federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) to provide server space for web development and on-site digitization of cultural heritage materials. It also notes the move of Columbia County Rural Library District to built a collection of early schoolhouse photographs.
