Abstract
- The unstimulated parotid saliva flow rate decreased significantly from 0.057 to 0.014 ml/minute when subjects were blindfolded. It is suggested that photic stimulation of retinal receptors induces sympathetic neuronal activity, which may be responsible for maintaining resting parotid flow in the human. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
