Abstract

The article discusses a study on levels of copper in dental amalgams. The American Dental Association (ADA) standards for dental amalgams limit copper concentration to six percent. However, it was found that high concentrations of copper eliminated the γ<subscript>2</subscript> phase, which is weak and electrochemically active.
