Abstract
- The article discusses the conclusions drawn from various electrophoretic studies of saliva. Moving-boundary, or free electrophoresis sometimes yields boundary anomalies, and is not used frequently. Paper electrophoresis of saliva can be used to detect levels of salivary proteins. Acrylamide gel electrophoresis can be used with parotid and submaxillary saliva to separate anionic components.
