Abstract
- The article discusses the use of X-ray computed tomography (XCT) in evaluating ballistically-induced damage in ceramic targets. XCT is a non-destructive evaluation technique for revealing the spatial distribution of damage in ceramics. The size of the specimens and the parameters of the XCT approach affect the level of detection and resolution of damage. Several types of damage features were found in the AD995 alumina and silicon carbide targets.
