Abstract

The article reports on a topical penicillin treatment which combines the antibiotic with denture adhesive powder. Experiments using Karaya gum, carboxymethyl cellulose, and crystallin penicillin in rabbits, rats, and mice are mentioned. Topics include the reduction of Staphylococcus aureus in Petri dish cultures, the Rosenthal motility test, and the effectiveness of the adhesive penicillin ointment against Vincent's infection, pericoronitis, and streptococcic gingivitis.
