STUDIES OF THE COMPOSITION OF TEETH: I. CHEMICAL ANALYSIS FOR THE PRINCIPAL INORGANIC CONSTITUENTS OF THE ENAMEL AND DENTIN FROM SYRIAN HAMSTERS.

The article presents a chemical analysis of the teeth of Syrian hamsters. The analysis of the principal organic constituents of the enamel and dentin of the teeth is described. A history of the usage of the Syrian hamster in laboratory research is also provided, noting that the results of the study will aid in determining the future usage of Syrian hamsters in dental caries studies.
