Abstract

The article provides information on the economy of Finland. The Gross National Product (GNP) has increased at an average annual rate of 5.2% in 1950 to 1974, which is higher than the 4.4% average of the members of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Finland's fiscal austerity program has transformed the large deficits into healthy surpluses, which allows the authorities to pay the national debt. Charts and economic figures are also offered.
