Abstract
- The author reflects on the need for optimal conservation strategies in addressing the global biodiversity crisis. He mentions that since conservation biology is a crisis discipline by definition and is characterized by subjectivity, quantitative techniques have been developed to allow objective prioritization of conservation strategies for systematic techniques. However, he points out that less exploration has been done in optimization methods for conservation strategies, aside from site selection.
