Abstract

The article reports on a study of the detection of Clavibacter michiganenis ssp. insidiosus (Cmi) in alfalfa seed. It used the conventional polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay and the real-time Taqman PCR assay in identifying Cmi in alfalfa seed. It also inoculated several cultivars of alfalfa seedlings that founds out that foliage symptoms of Cmi included stunting, leaf scorch, yellowing, and wilting.
