Abstract

This article discusses economic conditions in the state of Michigan resulting from the decline of the automobile industry. The effect of prolonged unemployment issues on the psychology of Michigan residents is considered as one social consequence of the declining prominence of U.S. automobile manufacturers. The relationship between cars and social life in Michigan is also considered.
