Abstract
- The article discusses the IT (information technology) industry in India, examining the interconnectedness between India's educational system and India's IT workforce. Despite the fact that Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) annually graduate close to 4,000 engineering and computer science graduates, one-quarter of all Indian high school graduates find pursuing similar college degrees prohibitive due to high costs. Also discussed is a projected IT labor shortage by 2016 and is a decrease in the Indian technical education expenditure.
