Abstract
- The article discusses the relevance of the Manchester Assize courts to architectural designs and how its architect, Alfred Waterhouse, adapted the various parts of the building to its purpose. It describes the courthouse as exceptional and functional providing ample accommodation compared to other courts. The author expresses her admiration to Waterhouse and believes that the complexity of his designs sets him apart from the others.
