Abstract

The article offers information on the processing of surface photovoltage (SPV) viscose employing R 40 rotor spinning technology from Rieter Textile Systems. It is inferred that the combination of SPV viscose fibers with Rieter R 40 rotor spinning technology enables rotor speeds of 130,000 revolutions per minute (RPM) and delivery speeds of 175 meters per minute while maintaining good running properties and optimum yarn structure. It notes that viscose is a very good substitute to cotton and plays a major role on the textile market, particularly for fashionable clothing, bed linen, towels and underwear. It discusses the twist factor recommended on the basis of the yarn properties attained for knitting and weaving applications.
