Abstract
- The article presents stories from some residents of Big Sur, California about their feelings and experiences related to the Basin Complex wildfire in July 2008 that almost destroyed their community. Sara Carr of Fernwood Resort said that the fire eliminated the summer tourist season. Artist Jayson Fann of Big Sur Spirit Garden returned to restore what was left of his property.
