An Introduction to the Special Issue on Criminal Profiling.

The article discusses various reports published within the issue including one by Melissa Martineau and Shevaun Corey on the degree to which crime descriptions can be coded reliably using the variables included in the Violent Crime Linkage Analysis System (ViCLAS) and another by Brandy Doan and Brent Snook on the fundamental assumptions underlying many forms of criminal profiling.
