Abstract
- The article reports on the acquisition of the investment banking and equities businesses of Lehman Brothers in Europe and the Middle East by Japanese securities broker Nomura in September 2008. Nomura paid $200 million for the assets after Lehman was forced into bankruptcy. No decision has yet been taken about Lehman's European fixed income business, which employed about 600 people.
