Abstract
- The article focuses on the significance of bats for the environment and for people. It highlights the shrinking population of the bats in the U.S., Malaysia and several tropical countries, which affects the well-being of human populations. It states that bats pollinate plants, provide guano for fertilizer and eat insect pests that destroys crops. It notes the efforts of some organizations in Europe which protect and stop the decline of the bat's population.
